Once again, it's bullfights season in a country that's supposed to protect biodiversity and natural patrimony.
Granted, bulls aren't endangered species, but there's something I don't like about animals getting killed for human entertainment. Before anyone thinks anything, I'm not a vegan or an animal rights activist; I just don't want to scream "Ole" to a guy in a ridiculous costume, surrounded by drunk people in equally ridiculous costumes.
I brought the topic up during breakfast, and I was surprised: No one seemed to agree with me and the general consensus was "No, it's not wrong, people enjoy like it." The arguments used against me were things like "but you enjoy concerts, and people step on the grass on concerts," "vegetarians say that eating meat is wrong." Am I the only one seeing the holes in those arguments or am I really arguing something stupid?
It's a shame no one brought a more realistic argument involving how many people and businesses are benefited thanks to the bullfights (though, eventually the more benefited are people who are already richer than 90% of my country) and how stupid it is to worry about such a trivial matter compared to the other problems our country faces.

Wtf? I don't know about any holes, but I really don't see how that could be used as an argument at all regarding bullfights.
Here in Mexico bullfights are relatively popular, but far from being a national sport of sorts. I'm not too exposed so it so I haven't really thought about it. I would agree it's a bit unnecessary. Not wrong, or bad; just unnecessary.

In California, their bulk of their pollution comes from the film industry. People are willing to look the other way when it comes to entertainment.
